Here's some more profiles of our children, using some recently taken photos. First up is Ashley - he's now one of the oldest children in the home and we've been lucky to see him grow up over many years. He's a boy with a smiling eyes and a big determination to contribute to everything in the home's life. With his brother Hendrico they form the warm energetic heart of ECYCC.
Chrissie never fails to endear himself to anyone he meets. He's very inquisitive and it's been happy times watching him grow up from a toddler into a proper little 'man'. Chrissie loves play-time and his energy never drops - he's often leading the other small boys in games and trying to follow in the footsteps of the older ones.
Calvin is quite new to ECYCC but has quickly settled in. Sometimes quite shy on first impressions, with a little encouragement he gets involved and charms you with affection. He's really starting to find his feet and his new big 'family' at ECYCC seem to have had a positive effect on his development and confidence.

New Profiles - Part 1
We recently did some arts and crafts with the children and they had the chance to write out their own name-badges. We thought it would be good timing to take their photos, and then we could share some updates on all the children who currently make up the Emmanuel 'family'. We'll have updates for three children at a time: here are our first three, starting with Adumpie:
Adum is one of three brothers who recently joined the home. Despite his diminutive size, he has a big personality and smile. He's energetic and eager to take part in all the learning and play times at the home. Adum is a fast learner and we cannot wait to see how he develops because he is bright-spark and seems to be thriving at Emmanuel home.
Angel loves her music, which she sings along and dances to. Every day she points to the radio and lets you know her appreciation if it is switched on. Despite not being able to fully express herself, she is very affectionate and it's easy to know how she's feeling. Angel brings a lot of warmth and energy to the home and makes a big impression on everyone she meets - carers, the other children, volunteers and visitors alike.
Aseko has a really gentle and beautiful nature - she's sometimes a little shy and quieter than the other children, but given the right encouragement she becomes quite playful and affectionate. She has only recently joined the home so is getting used to her new surrounding and making new friends amongst the other children. Watching her grow up in the home will be lovely.

Profile: Angel
Angel is definitely one of the biggest characters of the home. Despite not always having the words to express herself, she shares her emotions in warm and touching ways and her laughter and energy fills the home. Everyone who meets Angel is charmed by her. She has been with ECYCC for nearly a year now and we hope to watch her grow up in a fine young lady who is a credit to the home.

Profile: Clayton
Congratulations to Clayton....he recently won the "Mr Middelburg High" title at his school as well as a number of other categories. We are extremely proud of him and he deserves these accolades. He has also become a youth leader at church recently and he is starring in his school's rugby team this year, playing in the 1st team which just won 3 matches on a recent tour to Bloemfontein and he's training for the next rugby tour to George in 3 weeks time. We now need him to be positive in his final year at school and wish him all the best. Please friends of ECH, we need a sponsor for this bright young man in order to take him to new heights. Contact Carol on 049 8424414 or email us at emm.childrenshome@gmail.com. Clayton has grown into a very decent young man and he can achieve so much.

Profile: Christiaan
Christiaan is just over three years old and despite his small size he shows us he's going to be a delightful little boy with a bright future. He uses few words but his eyes say a lot and he's always following what the other children are doing, chasing after them into the yard. He is so well behaved and we think when he has the chance to go to pre-school he's going to blossom.

Profile: Sinakwe
Every month we'll post some profiles of our children. Starting here with the youngest...
Sinakwe is just over 1 year old and joined the home back in October. He is a very loving and inquisitive little boy, who likes to be stimulated all the time and has a very expressive face. He’s already taking his first steps and toddling around on his feet independently will mean he can start to follow the other children and explore.
